Eureka

4 900 AMD

The game starts when each player has been dealt seven cards. The player who dealt the cards begins. During play, leave your cards in front of you so the dates are face down and the events face you. Eureka can be played with or without the spinner. When playing without the spinner, one random card is placed on the table at the start — again with the date face down.

The first player places one of their cards to the right of the card on the table if they think that event happened later than the one already on the table. Conversely, they place it to the left if the event happened earlier. The cards are then turned over to the date side to see whether they are in the correct order. If the card was placed correctly, the turn passes to the next player. If not, the dates must be put in the right order, and the player draws one card from the face-down deck to add to their hand; only then may the next player take their turn. When a card is not placed at either end of the chain, shift the other cards in the row to make room.

When playing with the spinner, the rules are the same, except that spinning the arrow can double or triple your chance to discard a card — that is, discard 2 or 3 cards at once before the next player’s turn. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins. If every card has been dealt and the winner is still unknown, the player with fewer cards wins.
